CAPS USPSA matches are held at
the Coastal Georgia Gun Club
USPSA matches are held on the 4th Saturday of every month.
Matches are open to the public. Matches are run according to the USPSA rules which can be found at USPSA-Handgun Rules.
It is suggested that you read through the rules prior to attending a match.
Match fee is $20, juniors shoot for free and helping set up by 7:30 and shoot for $5 (for annual Special Classifier match fee is $25) Matches are 5 or 6 stages (depending on weather and help for setup) and will usually require 140 to 150 rounds. Bring 200 to be safe in case of reshoots or a particularly high round count. Most matches will include 1 classifier stage, if you are planning to join USPSA within a week or two let us know at registration so that we can mark you as “Pending”. Scoring is done using the Practiscore App on Nook tablets. Scores will be uploaded to both the USPSA website www.uspsa.org and to Practiscore practiscore.com - type Coastal Area in the search box to find all match scores. To receive information about the USPSA matches, sign up for our email newsletter at www.capsipsc.com and/or our Facebook page www.facebook.com Steel Match Website: Coastal GA Gun Club Steel Match Email only (USPSA contact info is at bottom of the page): steelchallenge@coastalgagunclub.com Steel Match is very shooter friendly and easy to learn, shoot 5 steel plates from one position and you’re done! Actually, there’s a little more to it but that’s the basics. There will be 5 stages, or courses of fire, consisting of 5 steel plates of different sizes at varying distances. The plates are 10" round, 12" round and an 18×24" rectangle. One hit on each plate is all that is required to score on that plate, each stage is shot 5 times and the best 4 times added together determine your score on that stage. There is no movement required while shooting the stage. All Divisions require drawing from a belt holster to begin the string of fire, except the .22 rimfire pistols, they always begin the string of fire from low ready. Minimum centerfire caliber required is 9mm/.38 Special and the Divisions break down as follows:
