CAPS USPSA matches are held at the Coastal Georgia Gun Club
every 4th Saturday

USPSA matches are held on the 4th Saturday of every month. Matches are open to the public. Matches are run according to the USPSA rules which can be found at USPSA-Handgun Rules. It is suggested that you read through the rules prior to attending a match.

Please let us know if you are new to USPSA or this range, BEFORE un-bagging any firearms! We will have a new-shooter's brief for you to attend prior to joining your squad. Also let your squad know so that the ROs and others can give you a hand- and please do ask questions!

COLD RANGE = No loaded weapons except at the direction of a Range Officer

Pistols must remain holstered at all times, unloaded with no magazine, except at the direction of a Range Officer or in a designated Safety Area.

No loaded weapons or live ammo/snap caps permitted in Safe Areas. Eye and ear protection are required.

We are now including both new USPSA divisions, Carry Optics (CO) and Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC). Information for these is available at USPSA-Rules

Steel Match - 2nd Saturday

Steel Match Website: Coastal GA Gun Club

Steel Match Email only (USPSA contact info is at bottom of the page):

Steel Match is very shooter friendly and easy to learn, shoot 5 steel plates from one position and you’re done! Actually, there’s a little more to it but that’s the basics. There will be 5 stages, or courses of fire, consisting of 5 steel plates of different sizes at varying distances.

The plates are 10" round, 12" round and an 18×24" rectangle. One hit on each plate is all that is required to score on that plate, each stage is shot 5 times and the best 4 times added together determine your score on that stage. There is no movement required while shooting the stage. All Divisions require drawing from a belt holster to begin the string of fire, except the .22 rimfire pistols, they always begin the string of fire from low ready. Minimum centerfire caliber required is 9mm/.38 Special and the Divisions break down as follows:
  • .22 Rimfire Pistol, Iron Sight
  • .22 Rimfire Pistol, Optic Sight
  • Open (Centerfire with optics and compensator)
  • Limited (Centerfire Iron Sight)
  • Production (Centerfire Iron Sight)
  • Double Action Revolver
  • Single Stack / CDP
  • Pistol Caliber Carbine
  • Other Divisions may be created/allowed depending on requests.
Matches will be held the second Saturday each month and will begin at 9:00 am. Matches are open to the public.
  • First gun: $15.00 (CGGC Members $10.00)
  • Second gun: $5.00
